Poem

Light

Like a lamp

She lights up the room,

bright

and inspiring.

But dissipating

                      everyone’s gloom?

She finds it tiring.

Yet she can’t stop.

Making people happy,

                     It’s what she feeds off.

Like a lamp

When it gets too bright

She turns off

Her job is done, everyone’s having fun

                                                                           except her.

In the darkness

her fears s h i n e.

In her silence

her thoughts scream

She realises her bulb has

   blown

She’s taken care of everyone’s happiness, except her own.
